Sadie, the daughter of Henry H. and Sadie L. Cissell was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, November 30, 1916. She was married to James E. Ratliff Sr on September 29, 1935, to this union nine children were born.

She professed hope in Christ in 1934 and united with the Mt. Paran Baptist Church, January 3, 1935 and was baptized by the late Dr. C. Henry Bell. Her favorite songs were "Precious Lord," and "His Eye Is On The Sparrow." Her special scripture was "The Lord is my Sheperd."

She was conscious of her home going and related the same to her Pastor. She bore her illness with patience. She was active in the P.T.A. program of the school. She departed this life April 16, 1970 at 3:52 A.M. Sadie was laid to rest at New Crown Cemetery.

The bereaved are husband, Mr. James E. Ratliff Sr., four daughters, Mrs. Henrietta Lawrence, Mrs. Elvia Smith, Mrs. Willa M. Lolla, Mrs. Sadie Ann Barnett, five sons, Mr. James Jr., Donald, William, Clifford, and Eugene Ratliff, 15 grand children; one sister, Mrs. Elvia Williams, of Seattle, Washington; two brothers, Mr. William Cissell of Los Angeles, California; Mr. Louis Cissell of Compton, California; one Aunt, Mrs. Anna Dimmitt, one nephew, Mr. Louis E. Cissell of Venice California; other relatives and friends.
