Helen Bernice Caperton McCorkle was the wife of David McCorkle, loving mother of two sons, Billy David and Jackie Earl McCorkle, grandmother of Amber and Timothy McCorkle, and daughter of Andrew Jackson and Vera Starnes Caperton. David and Helen were life long residents of Greenwood, Arkansas. Helen commuted to nearby Fort Smith where she worked at General Electric until her retirement. They were active members of First Baptist Church of Greenwood. Helen her husband, and her parents are buried at Cross Cemetery in Greenwood, Sebastian County, Arkansas.

Helen McCorkle, 65, of Greenwood, Arkansas, died Monday, October 22, 1990, at a Fort Smith hospital. She was retired from General Electric and was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 1990 at the First Baptist Church in Greenwood. Burial will be at Cross Cemetery in Greenwood. She is survived by her husband David McCorkle of the home; two sons, Bill McCorkle of Fort Smith, and Jack McCorkle of Fort Pierce, Florida; one sister, Betty Sadler of Greenwood; three brothers, Bob Caperton and Floyd Caperton of Fort Smith, Alfred Caperton of Tulsa, Okla., and two grandchildren, Amber of Fort Pierce and Tim of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Charles McCorkle, W.J. McCorkle, Bob Sadler, Terry McCorkle, Steve Caperton, and Charles Sadler.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
