Mrs. Mary Boor passed away at the Loretto Hospital Saturday afternoon at 1:30, death being due to dropsy with which she suffered for the past two years. She was confined to her bed for six weeks immediately preceding her death.
The deceased whose maiden name was Mary Groebner, was born in Bohemia; Austria, August 15th 1844. She came to America in 1862, coming directly to West Newton. There she was married 45 years ago to Joseph Franta, who died about ten years later. About 33 years ago she was married to Leonard Boor at Swan Lake who died here in New Ulm four years ago.
Mrs. Boor lived on a farm in Nicollet County until ten years ago when she and her husband retired from active life and came to New Ulm where she has since resided. She is survived by four children, two of the first and two of the second marriage. Four children of the first marriage and two of the second marriage preceded her in death. The surviving children are Frank Franta of Iowa, Mrs. George Ries of New Ulm and Mrs. Nick Sontag and Mrs Henry Sontag of Swan Lake. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank Prokosch of Clements.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning with services at Holy Trinity Church at 8 o'clock, Rev. Schlinkert officiating and at the Swan Lake church at 10 o'clock, Rev. Skluzasek officiating. Interment was made at the Catholic cemetery at Swan Lake. At the time of her death the deceased was a member of the Mother Society here and of the Alter Society of Swan Lake Church. Outside relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Prokosch of Clements, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Boor of Madelia and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Franta of Iowa.
