Mrs. Nick Sondag, aged 75 years old, died at the Loretto Hospital in New Ulm on Wednesday, October 22, 3:10 p.m.
Anna Franta, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Franta was born in West Newton township on March 2, 1872, where she grew in to womanhood. She was married to Nick Sondag, February 19, 1890 in the Swan Lake Catholic Church. They took up their residence on a farm in Brighton township and resided there until 1924 when they retired and moved their home since. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary seven years ago.
Mrs. Sondag was a member of St. Mary's Society of the Swan Lake Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband and nine children. Four children preceded her in death. The living children are: Joseph Sondag of New England, So. Dakota, Mrs. Mary Jutz of San Bernadino, Calif., Mrs. Ray Vigue, of Hokah, Mrs. Martin Zins, Nicollet township, Victor Sondag, New Ulm, Mrs. Alfred Kopetzki, New Ulm, Mrs. R.J. Dauffenbach, Nicollet, Mrs. Fred Zins, Nicollet township nd Willard Sondag of New Ulm. There are 27 grand children and 3 great grand children.
Mrs. Sondag is survived by two half sisters, Mrs. George Ries of New Ulm and Mrs. Henry Sondag of Sykeston, North Dakota. The body was brought to the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.J. Rauffenbach on Thursday afternoon. Funeral services were held from St. Paul's Catholic Church on Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock. The Requiem High Mass was read by Rev. Thomas Robertson, assisted by Rev. John Siebenand of Nicollet and Rev. Chas. Webber of Anoka.
The flowers bouquets were large and beautiful and the spiritual bouquets were many.
The pall bearers were Lampert Dorn, Theodore Jutz, Henry Epper, Ed C. Johannes, Ben Dorn and Hub Sondag. Interment was in the Nicollet cemetery near town.
