Dad was Criss, Mom was Gertude. We lived in Coos County until 1930 - They lived at Lampa Creek, Upper Ward Creek, Upper Catching Creek, and Bridge. Oregon on a donation land claim. After dad's death in 1921 we moved Catching Creek on the Ted Bestal place. We went to upper Catching Creek School then to the lower Catching Creek School.

In 1929 we bought a house on North Heath in Coquille. In the summer of 1930 we moved to Tenmile, Douglas County, where we have lived since. We lived during World War II in Myrtle Point, Oregon. Roy, Abe, Ellis, and Warren enlisted, Roy and Ellis to Germany. Abe and Warren went to the Pacific Island and hopped to Japan. Abe was in the Navy, Warren was infantry, and Roy helped build the Alcan Highway driving a big cat; then out to Germany. He was in the Army Engineers. Ellis was sent to Wisconsin to (He was in the Army Corp.) Radar school, then as communicator for planes on to Germany. They saw so much battle. All of us married except Ellis who lost a lung during the war and was never well after that. If you want to know about our families let me know. Perhaps this is more than you wanted?
