Lillian Englund, 87, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 22 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Karlstad with Rev. Mitch Tolpingrud officiating. Special music was provided by Everett and Kathy Englund. Casketbearers were her grandchildren, Dean, Ingrid, Holly, Kyle, Kraig, Laura, Danny, Anne, Michelle, Tasha, Lisa, Erik, Tessa, Nina and Christopher. Interment was in Karlstad Cemetery. The Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad was in charge of the arrangements.

Lillian Elaine Bengtson was born on September 30, 1912 in Springbrook township of Kittson county, the daughter of Noak and Olga (Johnson) Bengtson. She attended school and grew up in Springbrook township and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On July 15, 1934 Lillian was united in marriage to Nels "Einar" Englund at the Bethel Lutheran parsonage in Karlstad. The couple made their home in Karlstad. Until she retired at the age of 75, Lillian was employed for many years in the dietary department at Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Karlstad and was active in all of the church's affairs.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Einar; three sons, James, Emmett (Sandra) of Sacramento, CA, and Paul of Minneapolis; Elaine (Adolph) Anderson of Thief River Falls; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; two sisters, Carrie Carlson of Warren and Florence Clark of Williston, ND; three brothers, Henry (Lorraine) and Harry (Sylvia), both of Karlstad, and Larry (Esther) of Shepherd, MT; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Blanche; two sons, Loyal and LeRoy; and one grandson, Lance.
