During one of those walks he discovered a tiny tree in a wooded area, which he dug up the next day and planted in his yard. Year by year it grew until it was taller than the house. He loved to talk about that tree and was amazed at its growth.
Louie married (Alberta) Bertha Des Jardins at St. Joseph's Church in Worcester. After her death in 1945 he married Mary O'Connor (Dec 1947). He had seven children: Louis, Norman (Gerry), Shirley, Claire, Robert, John and Diane.
At the time of his death he left 7 children, 28 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He died in Tobey Hospital, Wareham, MA. Louis is buried with his brother, both spouses and other relatives. The brickyard where he was born and raised is now park land and there is more about it online.
