David Samuel Welchman, age 97, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 1990 at his home in Salt Lake City.


Born November 8, 1892 in Grover, Wyoming to Arthur P. and Sara L. Welchman. Married Margaret Ann Hodge on October 25, 1916 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on April 6, 1973. He served an LDS mission in the North Central States and remained a faithful member of the Church throughout his life. He will be remembered for the many beautiful homes he constructed in the Salt Lake area.


Survived by his children: Mary E. Ball, Aloha, Oregon; Nancy B. Thompson, Eloise M. Welchman and Sheldon H. Welchman, all of Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sons, Alonzo D. and Arnell H. Welchman.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 1990 at 11 a.m. at the Parleys 2nd Ward Chapel, 1870 East Parleys Canyon Boulevard. Friends may call at Mackay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward Chapel one hour prior to services.
Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
