Barbara Caldwell, formerly of Memphis, passed away at her home in Horn Lake, MS., Sunday, July 30, 2006. She was a graduate of Kingsbury High School and attended the University of Memphis. Barbara had been manager of the Tax and Insurance Department of National Mortgage Company and former manager of Warner Brothers Studio Store. She was a member of Carriage Hills Baptist Church and former member of Berclair Baptist, where she served as Missionary to West Africa as well as home missions through the Southern Baptist Convention. She founded the Desoto County Scleroderma Support Group and was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Lee Duke, Jr. and is survived by her husband of 16 years, Steve D. Caldwell, children; Stephen Caldwell, II, James Caldwell, Seth Caldwell; grandson; Leland Caldwell, mother; Lillian Duke, sisters; Helen (David)Greene, Paula Holcomb, Nancy (Doug) Robinson, brother-in-law, Tommy Holcomb and nine nieces and nephews. She also leaves her mother and father-in-law, Laura and Jim Caldwell. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5-8:30 p.m. , Tuesday, August 1. Service will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, at Carriage Hills Baptist Church, in Southaven, Ms. with a visitation at the church 10-12 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank all who participated in the "Bikers for Barbara" transplant fundraisers.
