Funeral services for Abraham Shaw, 78, prominent stockman and farmer of Aurora who died June 7 after a long illness of diabetes, were held Thursday afternoon in the Aurora Ward Chapel.

Bishop Leland Lazenby conducted the services. Speakers were Henry Peterson of Richfield, Levi Sorensen and President C. WIlliams of Salina. A biography was read by Mrs. Joseph Curtis. The choir sang "Oh My Father,: "I Do Not Weep Alone," and"Resting Now from Care and Sorrow". A musical reading, "Home," was given by Mrs. Conrad Payne, with violin accompaniment by Keith Sorensen. A solo, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine", was sung by Lavell Christensen, with Mrs. John R. Stewart at the piano. The invocation was by LeGrand Durfee; J.C. Cowley of Venice dedicated the grave. Interment being in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were sons.

Mr. Shaw was born at Provo, January 13, 1860 a son of Abraham and Jane Lorensen Shaw. He moved with the family to Glenwood when he was eight years of age. He married Selena Ann Wall, November 28, 1883, in the St. George Temple. They were the parents of 15 children, ten of whom survive. Twenty-seven years ago they moved to Aurora, where Mr. Shaw was active in civic affairs, serving as the first town president of Aurora, a position he held two terms. Whie he was town president he was instrumental in having water piped into Aurora. He served as president of the Windy and Rocky Ford Canal Companies, as president of the West Forest board and as water master for six years.

Surviving Mr. Shaw are his widow; four daughters and six sons, Mrs. Estella Mason, Mrs. Sylvia Mason, Mrs. Melba Stevens and Mrs. Della Ernstsen. Emeron, WIlliam, Glen and Lynn Shaw of Aurora, Joseph and Lawrence Shaw of SIgurd; 51 grandchildre; four great grandchildren, two brothers and a sister, Fred Shaw of Venice, Thomas Shaw of Richfield and Mrs. O.D. Rowe of Rigby, Idaho.
