---George W. Barry, seventy-eight years of age, died at his home here Monday morning after an illness of several months.
---Funeral services were held at 2:00 Wednesday afternoon at the La Plata Christian Church with R. L. Prather officiating. Burial was in the La Plata cemetery.
---The son of Frank and Minerva Barry, George Barry was born in Dallas County.
---On March 10, 1899 he was married to Alice Gasaway. They made their home in La Plata and continued to live there throughout their married life. Mr. Barry was employed by the American Express Railway Company for twenty-six years before retirement.
---Surviving relatives are his widow, his son, Carl of Washington, Kansas; a grandson, Roger; a sister, Surilda Story of Paoma, Colorado, and one brother, Everett of La Plata.
---His parents, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
