Glen grew up in the Kirtland-Shiprock area, graduating from Kirtland High School in 1947. He was very competitive in football and basketball through his high school years.
He married Nelda Farnsworth on Dec. 17, 1946, in the Mesa Temple. Glen and Nelda recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary. Their union was blessed with six children, Ron, Cheryl, Colin, Dianna, Raette and Carlos.
Glen always was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He accepted and fulfilled every church calling that was extended to him. He especially enjoyed the opportunities to serve as a Stake missionary, as a High Councilman, in the Stake Sunday School presidency, and many other callings. He was employed in numerous trading posts across the Navajo reservation. He was a very successful farmer producing alfalfa, watermelons, cantaloupe, green beans, sweet corn and potatoes.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and his oldest son.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 62 years, Nelda; five children; 57 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at the Kirtland LDS Stake Center on Hwy 64.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the same location.
Interment will be at the Kirtland Cemetery.
