He was the son of Leslie and Ruby (Case) Boatner. He married Marie Cartmel on July 17, 1995, in Pottsboro, Texas. He enjoyed going to the coffee shop and had served in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Marie Boatner, Denison, Texas; son, Allen Boatner, Denison, Texas; daughter, Mary Tucker, and her children, BreAnna, Summer, Nathan, Delaney and Caleb; son, William Boatner, Denison, Texas, and his children, Starla, Darla and Allyson; Ronnie Hiser and wife, Jennifer, of Checotah, and their children, Kaelyn, Kamryn and Karson; Tommy Hiser and special friend, Kim Wagner, Denison, Texas, and his children, Megan and Terra. Also, brothers, Dean Boatner and wife, Betty, of McAlester, and Charles Boatner and wife, Debbie, of Indianola; sisters, Mary Cole, of Oklahoma City, Brenda Durham, Chowchilla, Calif., Sybil Moss and special friend, Chuck Russell, of McAlester, Neda Pearson and special friend, Jim Wright, of Hartshorne, and Eva Russell and husband, John, of Mead, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother; son, David Boatner Jr.; grandchildren, Ruby and Joshua; sister, Linda Dunfee, and brothers, Larry Boatner and Chester Boatner. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 12, 2009 at Indianola Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Denison, Texas.
