Charles Edwin Forbis Dies At His Home;
Charles Edwin Forbis, 62, died at his home 411 Circus Street, Saturday afternoon. He had been ill for four years.
Mr. Forbis, a Stephens College employee, lived his lifetime in Boone County and had been a resident of Columbia for 13 years.
He was born in Boone County, September 19, 1892, a son of Marion and Mary (Shern) Forbis. His father survives and is living in Fayette.
Other survivors include his wife, the former Edith Mead, whom he married in Fayette on January 8, 1911; Five children, Mrs. Roscoe Kite 321 Sexton Road, Wayne Forbis and Mrs. Dorsey Niles, both of the home, Donnie Forbis of Fort Wayne, Washington and Mrs. Rosalie Maurer of Colorado Springs, Colorado and six grandchildren.
Mr. Forbis was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at Parker's Chapel with the Reverend Paul Allison officiating. Burial will be in the Harrisburg
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wylie Coats, Junior Epperson, Robert Goslin, Dale Walton, Rice Claxton and Virgil Pugh. The body will be at Parker's Chapel until the time
for burial.
