pauline E. (Dorsey) Smith,62, of 97 drexel St. died yesterday in her home. Born in Cosby,Tenn. she was a 43 year resident of Springfield. She was a waitress for 18 years in the tearoom at the former Albert Steiger Co.,retiring five years ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church. She leaves her husband, former Springfield police officer Malcolm E. Smith, a son Edward E. of Wilbraham;four daughters, Debra A. Smith and Beverly D. Pacheco both of Springfield,Kathryn M. Carmody of Feeding Hills, and Paula J. Welch of Agawam;three brothers,Edward Dorsey of Bridgeton,NJ.,Harold and Wayne Dorsey of Cosby,Tenn.;four sisters,Gladys Darter of Springfield,Mo. Jean Keckler of Monett,Mo.,Irene Arp of Chicago,Il. and Shirley McMillin of Newport,Tenn;her step mother Opal Dorsey of Cosby, and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday morning from the T.P. Sampson Co. Chapel of the Acres, and in the Church,with burial in Center Cemetery,Agawam. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon and evening.
