John is the son of Jesse J. & Nancy Susan (Hollingsworth) Solomon, husband of Nancy Susan (Humphrey), brother to Geo M. Solomon, after Nancy's death John married Martha (Mattie) Vance.

∼Carlenville [sic], Nov. 29. — County Supt. of Schools Solomon received word this afternoon that his uncle John Solomon died at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the James L. Day hospital in Jacksonville. Mr. Solomon's home is two miles west of Palmyra.

Palmyra, Nov. 30 — Johnnie Solomon died at the hospital in Jacksonsville Monday. His body was brought here Monday evening. The funeral will be held at the Christian church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by Rev. V. E. King. Interment in Hollingsworth cemetery.
