Verda Huffman, 95, died Sunday morning, February 8, 2009, in the Alzheimer's Unit at Golden Living Center.
She was born, July 5, 1913 in Tiffin, OH, the daughter of James and Mae (Miller) Welch and moved to Muncie as a young woman.
Mrs. Huffman was an avid card player and dancer. She was a long time member of 1st Thursday Night Euchre Club and enjoyed ball room dancing.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean Ann Clevenger, Muncie and Dana Cramer (husband, Keith), Apple Valley, CA; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Eige (husband, Jamison), Parrish, FL, Lynn Ray (husband-George), Apple Valley, CA, Keith Cramer (wife, Sandy), Durango, CO, Brian Cramer (wife, Debbie), Big Bear, CA, Randy Huffman (wife, Tauna), Longmont, CO, Aaron Huffman (wife, Amy), Broomfield, CO, and Andrew Huffman (wife, Sarah), Las Animas, CO; 13 great grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret Woods, Daleville, Ivah Goodwin, Muncie, Doris Gordon, North Judson, and Evelyn Gilbert, Dixon, IL; her brother, James Welch, Panama City, FL; and several nieces and nephews including, Mary Jo McLaughlin, who was her caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick Huffman; her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Nellie Huffman; her step-mother, Mae Simmons; three sisters, Mildred Tutterow, Patty Stewart, and Ogalala McLaughlin; two brothers, John Welch and Thomas Welch; and her long time companion, Alden Rinker.
