Irene Marie Salz, 88, of Streator died at 9:15 P.M. Friday February 6, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Born July 26, 1920 in Streator she was the daughter of Lucas and Anna (Bereznak) Vasichko. She married Rudolph J. "Rudy" Salz on June 14, 1941 in Missouri. He died August 12, 2000.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Crisman of Vacaville, CA; sons, Dennis Salz of Streator and Thomas (Rita) Salz of Olatha, KS.; grandchildren Tim, Mike and Matt Crisman, Jackie Salz and Jessica Wardle; a sister, Francis "Fran" Wiggett of Streator and a brother, Edward (Jean) Vasichko of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Betty Yednock, Mary Fialko, Emma Barry, Anna and Susie Vasichko; brothers, George and John Vasichko
Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator schools.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Church, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and St. Ann's Society Branch 66.
