Evidence on the correct birth date for Charles Marion Tindall

1. The 1858 ODLC application, page two gives his birth date as 25 Aug 1830.
2. The 1860 Census in Scio, Linn, Oregon gives his age as 30…hence, born in 1830.
3. In the 1870 Census, the family of Charles Marion Tindall was not enumerated.
4. The 1880 Census in Scio, Linn, Oregon gives his age as 50…hence, born in 1830.
5. The Oregon, Early Oregonians Index, 1800-1860 gives his birth date as 25 Aug 1830.
6. The 1850 Census in Madison County, IL nearly gets it right, but the enumerator makes a clerical error and switches the ages of Charles with his younger brother Thomas who was born three years later, thus, Charles, who is listed first among his siblings, should have been listed as being age 20 and Thomas as age 17 in 1850. This is corroborated by the 1870 Census for Thomas as well as the above mentioned evidences.
