Mrs. Mary J. Brown, a resident of Corvallis for many years, died at 4:15 this morning at her late home. 686 South Eighteenth Street. Mrs. Brown had not been well for several years and recently suffered a paralytic stroke. Recurrent strokes developed to end fatally.

Mrs. Brown was born September 7, 1857 near Scio, in Linn County and as one of 15 children of Charles and Ruth Tindall, early pioneers who came to locate in Oregon in 1852. She married Johnathan R Brown May 4, 1881.

Surviving are three children, two daughters and one son. They are Mrs. J. J. Bennett, Corvallis; Mrs. A.P. Tedrow, Portland and M.L. Brown of Rickreall. There are also five grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Brown had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for many years and the funeral service will be conducted by Dr. James E. Milligan, pastor of the Corvallis church. The final service will be at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning from the Keeney Funeral Home with interment in the Miller Cemetery near Scio, in Linn County.
