William J. Strassman, 76, former resident of the town of Schleswig, passed away Sunday morning at Shady Lane, Manitowoc, where he had made his home for the past year and one-half.
He was born May 15, 1876, in the town of Schleswig, the son of the late Michael and Louise Zorn Strassmann. On Nov. 1, 1902, he was married to Miss Leona Weiss of Brillion and the couple made their home in the vicinity of Kiel most of their life. She passed away in January, 1922.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Lucille) Hoppe (sic) of New Holstein and Mrs. Harvey (Jennie) Rabe of the town of Eaton; five sons, Harry, town of Cato, Clarence, Millhome, Elmer of New Holstein, Howard of Chilton, and Kenneth of Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jacob Spettel and one brother, Ken, both of the town of Eaton.
His wife, parents, three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Roland Kley, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church of New Holstein, will officiate and burial will be made in
the Union Cemetery.
The body will lie in state until the hour of services.
