Funeral services were held
Monday for John W. Theel, 73, a retired Town of Schleswig farmer, who died Friday morning at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Theel, Route 2, Elkhart Lake, where he had been visiting since Thursday. The services took place at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home with the Rev. LuVerna Bauer, pastor of Unity ChristianFellowship Church in Sheboygan officiating. Burial was made in Union Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.
Born on January 7, 1890, in the Town of Schleswig on the Theel homestead farm, he was a son of the late William and Anna Theel. He received his education in the district school at Louis Corners and married the former Lilli Markward of the Town of Schleswig at Zion Lutheran Church at Louis Corners on December 2, 1914.
The couple settled on the Theel farm which they operated until 1946 when they moved to the present home in the Town of Schleswig. His wife died in May of this year.
He was a member of Unity Church in Sheboygan.
Survivors are three sons, Eldon of rural Fond du Lac, Elroy of rural Elkhart Lake, Harvey of rural Kiel; 13 grandchildren, and six sisters, Mrs. Armie Voigt of rural New Holstein, Mrs. Stanley Webster of Milwaukee, Mrs. Gustave Possin of Waupun, Mrs. Herbert Toldsdorf of
Grafton, Mrs. Walter Gruett of Thiensville, and Mrs. Herman Bolle ofSheboygan. - (No newspaper named, 1963 handwritten on obituary)
