Son of Anne Margaret Babin and Valentine Dosite Richard. The slab covering his grave is of concrete. It says his birth year was 1800. That is not correct. According to all documention I have on him, he was born April 4, 1801 in St. James Parish, Louisiana. Death being Oct. 24, 1888 in Biloxi, Ms. According to records he could read and write. He was able to help his father with alot of legal papers.

He served in the Civil War.
