Olieta was the daughter of Christian and Alvina (Schmidt) Koeppen.

Olieta A. Wagner, age 91, formerly of Louis Corners Road, Kiel died May 2, 2006 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein where she was a resident the past three years.
She was born January 22, 1915 in the town of Meeme, daughter of the late Christian & Alvina Schmidt Koeppen.
Olieta attended Woodland School in School Hill, WI.
On June 25, 1938 she married Arno J. Wagner at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church parsonage, Louis Corners with Pastor Harold Grunwald officiating.
The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1988.
Her husband Arno preceded her in death on January 26, 1989.
Olieta was a wonderful homemaker sharing her love as a wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked at Salvatorian Center, New Holstein in the printing Department where she became friends with many co-workers. They exchanged many recipes throughout the years which have become family favorites. She was a volunteer at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center until her health caused her retirement.
Olieta was a life-long & very active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. She was a member of the Ladies Aid. She donated endless hours of her time for church projects including cross stitched Christmons (Christmas Tree Ornaments), making church banners & loom-weaving of rag rugs. She also attended Bible Class on Wednesday & Sunday at the church.
She was a member of the Louis Corners Card Club, Louis Corners Homemakers, Manitowoc Senior Citizens & the Sheboygan Weavers Club.
Olieta was a seamstress, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitching, embroidery, needlepoint, fur flowers, beading jewelry,gardening and flowers.
Survivors include one daughter, June Ann (Kenneth) Smasal, Kiel, one son, Paul A. (Nancy Wassink) Wagner, Howards Grove, two granddaughters, two grandsons, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews & friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and their wives, Herbert (Rose Burkhart) Koeppen, Marvin Koeppen, Elmer (Olive Karsteadt & Joan Hebert) Koeppen and one sister & her husband, Caroline (Allen) Schwartz.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2006 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners with the Rev. Ted Olsen officiating.
Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
