Max was born the seventh of eight children of George Robbin Lawrence & Anna May Moehrle at 2603 Huntingdon Street, Philadelphia. Max was delivered by Dr. M.F. Pendergast and was named after his maternal uncle Maximillian Moehrle.

He married Anna Elizabeth Archer on June 26, 1937, at St. Marks Catholic Church in Bristol, Pennsylvania.

Max was a Justice of the Peace in Bristol, Pa. in the 1950's. His mother-in-law May Archer, lived with him and his wife Anne in Landreth Manor after her husband James Archer died. Max was a member of the Freemasons.
Max and his younger brother Archie were in partnership together for a time as builders and masons.

They moved to Deerfield Beach in 1956 from Bristol, Pa.
Max and Anne had no children.
Max was the only left-handed child in his generation.

Max died on the operating table while undergoing exploratory surgery at North District Hospital, Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida.

Uncle Max was another of his generation who loved life and the fun it provided. Max and Anne owned a vacation house on the Jersey shore where he kept a beautiful Chriscraft runabout. They would hold family clambakes there in the Summer where everyone had a wonderful time enjoying each others' company.
