Erma Thomas, 98 1/2, passed away at Life Care Center in Hilliard, Fla., on Oct. 2, 2011. Erma was born on March 22, 1913, in Moultrie, Fla.

She was a longtime resident of St. Augustine, formerly of 72 Sandford Street. She retired from Zoric Cleaners after working there for 45 years. Erma was also a lifelong member of Victory Tabernacle Church.

She is survived by her sister, Willie Mae Allen of Hilliard, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Thomas of Perry, Ga and Maidie Jean Thomas Fazio of St. Augustine, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Eva Thomas; brothers, Louie Woodrow, Ira Ellsworth; sisters, Vera Raulerson, Gladys Vanzant, Violet McQuaig, Helen McQuaig, Lucille Fisher and her twin sister, Elmo Higdon.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Pellicer Creek Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. at the cemetery. Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
