Leander Franklin Fallwell married Donnie Ella Bailey on October 26, 1879 in Panola County, Texas. They raised a large family of 15 children. In 1906, when their youngest son, Cecil, was 3 years old, they moved to Oklahoma in covered wagons along with their three older sons, William "Willie, Walter, and Conrad and their families. They settled in the Meeker, Lincoln County, area and farmed as "share croppers".

The following is an account of their children:

1. The oldest child in the family was Nevada Fallwell, born February 11, 1881, and died as a young mother (I believe Aunt Vinnie told me it was her heart). She died on her 22nd birthday in 1903. Nevada was the mother of Verdie and Myrtie (Riddle) Williams who Leander and Ella Fallwell raised as their own children. Myrtie and Verdie married brothers, Wes and Jess Riddle.

.2. Minnie Fallwell was born March 22, 1882, and she died when she was just over two years old August 10, 1884.

3. William Francis "Willie" Fallwell born October 15, 1883 and died August 24, 1958. He had one son named Curtis Fallwell and five step-children. Willie lived in Oklahoma City most of his adult life and served for 20 years as a police officer for the Oklahoma City Police Department.

4. The fourth child was Arthur Fallwell, born 19 August 1885 and died just before his first birthday on July 24th, 1886.

5. Vinnie Eveready Fallwell, their fifth child, was born on April 27, 1887, and died when she was 90 years old in October of 1977. Vinnie and her husband, Offie Britton, raised nine children in Panola County, Texas.

6. Veter Fallwell, their sixth child, was born on 30 January 1889. She raised a family down in East Texas near her sister, Vinnie, and died on February 2, 1968. Veter married Jim Britton, the brother of Vinnie's husband Offie Britton.

7, Their seventh child, Jimmie Fallwell, was born November 3, 1890. and died June 25, 1893.

8. Child number eight was Walter Columbus Fallwell, born October 2, 1892 and died November 22, 1974 in Yukon, Oklahoma. Walter was the father of Ruby, Marie, and Murl Fallwell whose mother died when they were just little children. Leander & Ella Fallwell helped their son Walter raise these three children also.

9. The ninth child was Conrad Velpo Fallwell born November 24, 1894 and died October 3, 1969, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I remember Uncle "Conerd" (as we called him) and his wife, Aunt Eula, very well. Their children were Loy Marie, Robert "Bobby", and DeNiece.

10. Child number ten was Moiena Itaska Fallwell, born October 15, 1896. She was married Bill Rader, and they had a very large family in California.

11. The eleventh child was a baby boy who lived only two weeks. He was born December 10, 1898, and died December 24, 1898. This had to have been a very sad time for the family to have the joy of a new baby born at Christmas time and then lose him on the day before Christmas.

12. Child number twelve was another baby boy named Layfayette "Mauzee" Fallwell. He was born May 26, 1900, and died on September 11, 1900, just 3-1/2 months old.

13. The thirteenth child was a baby girl named Vanila Fallwell, who lived just little over a year. She was born August 26, 1901, and died October 17, 1902. Three babies in a row died.

14. Cecil E.C. Fallwell was the 14th child. He married Hester Hazel Sims and raised a large family of nine children in Oklahoma.

15. Odette Fallwell was born November 12, 1905 and she died June 9, 1907.

Of 15 children born to Leander & Ella Fallwell, only 8 children lived to be adults. Their other children died very young from malaria or "swamp fever" as they called it, or other diseases. They lived in East Texas (Panola County) near the Murvaul Bayou until a dam was built and now it is called Lake Murvaul.
