Lonnie Jerome DeLatin, age 91 of Stonewall, LA, passed away October 25, 2013 at Arbor House in Rockwall, TX. He was born November 29, 1921, in Many, LA, to Lawrence Cleveland DeLatin and Willie Mae (Dew) DeLatin. Mr. DeLatin proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Chicago and USS North Carolina. Upon his return he married and started his family in Shreveport, LA. He valued hard work, a strong Christian faith and a good education. Well into his 80's, Mr. DeLatin enjoyed working on his farm, daily trips to the gym, Sunday Mass and a deep love for his family. For the many stories remembered and shared, his family and friends are grateful for his well-lived life. Mr. DeLatin is survived by three daughters: Shirley DeLatin Alpert of Rockwall, TX, Patricia DeLatin Ramsey and husband Mack of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Paulette DeLatin of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren: Kelly Ramsey of Little Rock, AR, Alex Ramsey of St. Louis, MO, Zach Alpert of Lewisville, TX, Allyson Alpert of Rockwall, TX, and Matthew Boudreaux of Lafayette, LA; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years: Mickey; his parents; brothers: Ancul DeLatin, L.C. DeLatin and Joseph DeLatin; and sisters: Catherine Skylar, Eula Mae Osborne, Nettie Murl Farmer, Janie Simpson, Theresa Mitchell and Annie Conley.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Many, LA on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Father Joe Martina officiating. Visitation will begin on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, LA with a Rosary Vigil at 6:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Many, LA. Pallbearers are four grandsons: Kelly Ramsey, Alex Ramsey, Zach Alpert and Matthew Boudreaux, son-in-law Mack Ramsey and nephew Curtis DeLatin.
