He was born 31 Jan 1763 in SC. Married Wilmouth Owens in 1785 and their children were Abraham, Sarah, Mary, Hannah, Bird, Jesse, John Lewis, and Elizabeth. Wilmoth died in 1803 and he married Martha Patsy Johnsey in 1804. They had children William, Cynthia, Rebecca, Lucinda, Luvina, and another male child born 1810. She probably died in KY before 1836. He served in Revolutionary War under Captain Nettles and was in the batle of Eutaw Spring. He was engaged in scouting parties against the Tories.
