LUCY STACY

Lucy Ethel Hepenstall, only child of Benjamin and Delia White Hepenstall, was born in Wayne county, Iowa, November 24, 1885, and passed away at Lucas County Memorial Hospital in Chariton, August 20, 1964, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 27 days.

She spent most of her life in Russell and on June 22, 1904, was married to Harvey Morford. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Raymond (Ursal) Collins, of Russell; Carl of Stockton and Verle of Peoria, Ariz.

Her husband passed away in 1916 and on July 3, 1918, she was married to Fred A. Stacy, who was a loyal companion.

In early life she accepted Christ and placed her membership in the Christian church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and two grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, two sons, one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, one granddaughter, six grandsons, 11 great-grandchildren and several cousins.

She can be remembered by her amicable disposition and culinary art, having run a cafe with her husband for several years.
