OBITUARY: Funeral services for Mrs. Lenna E. Chappelear were held Tuesday, April 25, 1967 at the First Baptist Church in Gotebo with Rev. Walter Wililams and Rev. Omer Delk, officiating.

Mrs. Chappelear, who died Sunday, April 23, 1967, had been in failing health for some time.

Lenna E. Chappelear was born in Morgan County, Ohio, September 24, 1879 to Mose and Nancy Abigal Chappelear. In 1896 she was married to Charley Grant and one son, Charley, was born to them. They both preceded her in death.

On November 23, 1900 she was married to Joe Chappelear at Chickasha, Indian Territory. Four children were born to them. They moved to Gotebo in 1906 where he was manager of a gin and on May 22, 1922, he became Gotebo Post Master where he served for 13 years. He preceded her in death, June 3, 1954; and her daughter, Gladys, died in 1942.

Before her illness, Mrs. Chappelear was active in Eastern Star, becoming a member of the Order in 1915; the American Legion Auxiliary and the Christian Church.

Among her survivors are three children; W.D. Chappelear, Gotebo; Mrs. Estel (Nancy) Collier of Anadarko and C.A. Chappelear of Havanah, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Deputy of Cordell; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
