Georgia Ann Griffith Tipton, age 86, passed away July 22, 2009 in Burnsville, NC.
She was a native of Yancey County, NC and was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Madge Woodby Griffith.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pigeon Roost Church of Christ.
Survivors include: daughters, Wanda and Helen Cannon both of Burnsville, NC, Doris Edwards of Burnsville, NC, Ruth Martin of Spruce Pine, NC, sons, Dean, Norman, and Elmer Tipton all of Green Mountain, NC, Darrell and Reece Tipton of Burnsville, NC, and Elbert Tipton of Hickory, NC, twenty-five grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Briscoe Tipton who passed away in 1983, sons, Arnold and Kenneth Tipton, twenty brother and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24, 2009 at 8:00PM in the Chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Paul Ault will be officiating the service.
Interment will be Saturday - July 25, 2009 at 2:00PM in the Tipton Family Cemetery.
