TYLER POINT - Funeral services for Rev.Hershel Phillips, 86, of Tyler Point will be held tomorrow, April 11 at 1 p.m. in the Tyler Point Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Tyler Point Cemetery.
Rev. Phillips died Monday (April 9, 1990) in the Cookeville General
Hospital.
Born February 22, 1904, in Wormingham, he was the son of the late
Alvin and Lou Bilbrey Phillips.
Rev. Phillips was a farmer and a minister for 50 years. He was a mem-
ber of the Tyler Point Free Will Baptist Church where he was assistant pastor, and a member of the eastern division of the Stone Association of Free Will Baptism.
His family includes his wife, Tilda Looper Phillips of Tyler Point; six daughters, Gladys Wilson of Sparta, Jewel Henson of Monterey, Marie Cordell of Guin, Alabama, Mildred Linder of Livingston, Estelle Tosh of Anderson, Indiana, and Wanda Pugh of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons, Marcen Phillips of Cullman, Alabama, and Roger Phillips of Anderson, Indiana; one brother, Warner Phillips
of Clarkrange; five sisters, Conley Looper and Sophia Roberts, beth of Clarkrange, Artema Robbins of Battle Creek, Michigan, Effie Looper of Rickman and Dolie Phillips of Clarkrange.
