Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Roberts, 91, of Clarkrange, were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, from the chapel of Goff funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Phillips officiating. Burial was in Midway Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts died Thursday, Feb. 14 at her son's home in Clarkrange. She was a factory worker, a homemaker, and a member of Midway Freewill Baptist Church.
Born October 7, 1916, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Lou Effie (Bilbrey) Phillips.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Roberts; 10 brothers and sisters, Conley Phillips, Artema Robbins, Juna Bowman, Portia Looper, Winnie Phillips, Effie Looper, Rev. Hershel Phillips, Wilburn Phillips, Basil Phillips and Forrest Phillips; and a grandson, Michael Dillon Roberts.
Survivors include 3 sons, Donny Roberts and Deloy Roberts, both of Clarkrange, and Dillon Roberts of Crossville; a daughter, Sandra Buckner of Cookeville; a brother, Warner Phillips of Clarkrange; a sister, Delia Phillips of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
