Mr Specht was born nine miles north of Marshalltown, July 6, 1888, a son of George Specht and Nellie (Roberts) Specht. He never married and was employed by farmers, including the Weater family for many years.
Surviving are nieces and nephwes, Charles B. Specht of Marshalltown, Mrs Alvin (Leona) Adair of Montour, Mrs Charles (Bessie) Monroe of Rockford Ill., Mrs Truman (Dorothy) Manship of Charles City and Mrs Kenneth (Jenette) Blake in California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and five brothers.
