George W. Specht a resident of the city for ten years, who had been in falling health for eight years and bedfast since February, with a weak heart brought on by complication, died 5:20 Thurday afternoon at his home.
Mr Specht was born Feb. 22, 1865, in Somerset County Pennsylvania, the son of Noah and Rebecca (Vore) Specht. When he was six weeks old the family came to Marshall County, settling eight miles north of the city on 3rd ave. road. Mr Specht married Nellie Roberts, Jan 12, 1886,in Marshall Co. Iowa who survives him. Of the seven children born to Mr and Mrs Specht, three survive: Charles Specht, of LeGrand, Mrs. (Lora) J.P. Hanson, four miles east of Liscomb, and Frank Specht, who made his home with his parents. Five grandchildren, Leona Bessie, Dorothy, and Charles Specht, and Geraldine Hanson, survive. Mr Specht is survived by a brother William Specht St. Louis, and a foster sister, Mrs Ella Lucas of Pocahontas. Another Brother passed away Feb 18,
Mr Specht was a member of the Modern Woodman of America Lodge of this city.
Funeral services will be held from the Estel Funeral home at 2:30 Sunday. Rev. H.W. Cope will have charge. Burial in the Albion Cemetery.
