Alvera A. "Vera" Baus
Alvera A. "Vera" Baus, 84, a resident of Willowpark, New Holstein and formerly of Kiel, died Wednesday evening, April 4, 2001, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.
She was the former Alvera Abler, born July 20, 1916, in St. Cloud, a daughter of the late Phillip and Clara Mihm Abler. On Aug. 3, 1939, she married Valentine A. Baus at St. Cloud Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1995.
Vera was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, and the Christian Womens Society, a former Cub Scout den leader and a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Dental Auxiliary.
Survivors include six sons, Donald and Janet Baus of Englewood,Fla., and Cedar Lake, Dr. Richard and Terry Baus of Crystal Lake, David and Cathi Baus of Chilton, Dr. Dennis and Rhonda Baus of Plymouth, Dr. Mike and Paulette Baus of rural Kiel, and Charles and Theresa Baus of Sarasota, Fla.; one daughter, Lori and David Sladky of Brookfield; 27 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother, Sylvester and Millie Abler of Fond du Lac; and five sisters,
Mary Alice and Jack Baus of St. Cloud, Ruth and Bernard Calvey of Fond du Lac, Doris and Joseph Eiring of Kiel, Donna and Frank Ditter of St. Cloud and Phyllis and C.J. Ausloos of St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two great-grandchildren.

Services: Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Monday, April 9, 2001, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, with the Rev.Loren Nys, S.D.S., officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation: Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the services. A memorial has been established for the SS Peter & Paul School Endowment Fund. Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel is assisting the
family.
