James Carbaugh, 78, died suddenly Monday morning at his home at Blue Mountain, Smithsburg, Route 2. He had been suffering from heart condition for several years. Mr. Carbaugh was a member of the Blue Mountain Church of God. Surviving are his wife, Laura P. (Daywalt) Carbaugh and four children, Mrs. Lawrence Neikirk, Broadfording, Mrs. George Cordori, Keller Carbaugh and Ira Carbaugh, Smithsburg, Route 2, eleven grand children also survive. His parents wer Caleb and Susan hardstock Carbaugh. He was the last of a family of 16 children, the funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Blue Mountain Church of God in charge of the Rev. Clarence McGala and the Rev. Samuel Kipe. Interment will be made in the Smithsburg cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock at the Grove .Funeral Home and at the church Thursday from 1 o'clock until the hour of service.
