Alice Martin, widow of Levi Martin, residing at New Baltimore, went last evening to the Church of God, about a mile above the Mont Alto Sanatorium, to attend services. She arrived about 7:30 and shortly after taking her seat, complained to a friend sitting near her that she felt ill and asked the latter to escort her outdoors, where she could get more air. This was done. A man with an automobile parked near the church offered to take Mrs. Martin home and the offer was accepted. She was able to walk to the car, but required assistance to enter her home when it was reached. Inside she retired to her bed and fifteen minutes later died, the cause given by physicians as acute indigestion. Mrs. Martin leaves the following children: James, Ruben, Grant, Howard, Edward and Florence Martin, and Mrs. Carrie Beal, all at home; Mrs. Walter McClarigan, of Downingtown, Pa., and Mrs. Charles Carbaugh, of Waynesboro, are surviving sisters and two brothers, William and James Carbaugh, reside at Edgemont, Md. Mrs. Martin was 58 years old. She will be buried Thursday leaving the home for the Church of God at 10 a.m. Rev. Levi Carbaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Strang's Cemetry.
