Viva L. Hampton Sevener was the youngest of nine children of "Buck" William Noah Hampton and "Belle" Dora Belle Haneline Hampton of Greene County, Arkansas.

She married Jessie Tatum Fielder of Arkansas in about 1929. They subsequently moved to Flint, Genesee County, Michigan along with Viva's sister Vera Hampton Braden and her husband Alexander Braden.

Viva then married Elbert Henry Sevener of Michigan. Viva and Elbert later moved back to her home state and were residents of Rector, Clay County, Arkansas, Sidney, Sharp County, Arkansas, and Cave City, Sharp County, Arkansas where Viva died.

Following the death of Viva's husband Elbert Henry Sevener, Viva was married a third and fourth time, but the names of these individuals are unknown at this time.

Viva was preceded in death by her mother "Belle" Dora Belle Haneline Hampton, father "Buck" William Noah Hampton, sister "Dailey" Aurora S. Hampton Lax, sister "Maudie" Maude Ethel Hampton Midkiff McBride, brothers "Wes" William David Wesley Hampton, "Peck" "Press" Calvin Pressley Hampton, "Erby" Erbine Estel Hampton, Ezra Clifton Hampton, and "Ebb" Elbert Elehue Hampton.

It is not clear whether or not Viva had any children.
Her final resting place is at Purcell Cemetery in Rector, Clay County, Arkansas with her husband Elbert Henry Sevener.
