MRS. CAROLINE LEIFER
Mrs. Caroline Leifer, 96, formerly of 105 Selma st., Plymouth, died Friday noon at Rocky Knoll Hospital and Sanatorium where she had been a patient for the past six years.
The former Caroline Friedrich, she was born April 24, 1875, in the Town of Herman, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Friederich.
She was married to Otto Leifer on June 14, 1900, in Plymouth. The couple lived in Plymouth since their marriage. Her husband preceded her in death in December of 1939.
Mrs. Leifer was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth and of the church's Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Clara) Zelm, of Plymouth; two sons, Leland of Manitowoc and Lorenz of Madison; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son and four sister.
Funeral services are Monday at 2 p.m. at Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. G. A. Karpinsky, associate pastor of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth from 3 p.m. Sunday until the time of services.
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Leifer's name.
Members of St. John's Ladies Aid Society are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Monday to attend the services as a group.
