OBITUARY - 19 July 1954:

Mrs. Amelia Jennie Merritt, age 81, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harold Gould, following an illness of several weeks.
She was the widow of Jedediah Prescott Merritt; and had been a resident of St. Catharines for more than 50 years.
She was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church; and a prominent worker in the parish Women's Auxiliary and missionary groups.
She was also a member of the Rose, Thistle and Shamrock Chapter of the IODE; and had formerly been active in Red Cross Society work.
Interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
