in St. Thomas Church.

Kate {Age 8} is recorded on the 1871 census at St. Thomas, Elgin, Ontario
dwelling in the household of her parents.

ST. THOMAS TIMES - 12 November 1940:

Mrs. Kate Alexandria Silcox died in the home
of her son, James, at Windsor after a short illness. She was visiting her son when she became suddenly ill two days ago.
She resided at St. Thomas until her marriage, then she moved to her husband's farm two miles west of Shedden, and had lived there ever since.
She was a member of the Frome United Church and in her earlier life was very active
in church work.
For the last three years she had made her home with her son, George.
Interment in the family plot.

About the year 1939 Kate had undergone a remarkable brain operation to relieve severe pain, by trepan and nerve pinching techniques. She recovered with amazing vitality for a woman of 75 years of age.
