Mrs. Susie Emmaline Travis, 81, died early Sunday morning at her home on Green Street after a long illness.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Surviving are the husband, Guthrie W. Travis; three daughters, Mrs. W.T. Omer of Madisonville, Mrs. Hobart Butler of Leesburg, Fla., and Mrs. Frank H. White, Providence; three sons, Monroe Travis of Providence, John W. Travis of Hyattsville, Md., and Cecil Travis of Chicago, Ill.; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon Seitz of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. A.H. Pickens, Providence; and four brothers, Albert N. Hazel of Providence, the Rev. J.W. Hazel of Carthage, Mo., J.B. Hazel of Detroit, Mich., and Otis Hazel of Tupper Lake, N.Y.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Baptist Church, with the pastor, the Rev. E.M. Skinner, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Raymond Hazel of Wheatcroft.
Grandsons who served as pallbearers were Billy Omer, Jimmie Omer, Charles Travis, Neil Travis, Harold Kemp, and Jack Kirk. Burial was in Blackford Cemetery.
