Emma Pool Blodgett was the daughter of hotel keeper, Jordan P. and Nancy Wells Pool of Greenville, South Carolina and later Newberry, South Carolina.

On December 20, 1859, Emma Pool married Foster Blodgett, Jr. (Richmond County Marriage Book, 1854-1863, p. 227). They were married at the First Baptist Church of Greenville, South Carolina by Rev. Richard Furman, D.D.


MARRIED
On Tuesday evening, the 20th inst., in the Baptist Church, at Greenville, S.C., by the Rev. Richard Furman, D.D., FOSTER BLODGET, Jr., Mayor of Augusta, and Miss EMMA, daughter of J.P. Pool, Esq., of the former place.

Emma and Foster had seven children: Jessie Eloise, Jordan Pool, Jordan Pool, Rufus Bullock, Oliver Morton, Emma Pool, and Foster Blodgett.

The Blodgett's were members of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Emma died of consumption of which she suffered for two years.
