Merle "Buck" Rex Budd, Sr.
JASPER --- Merle "Buck" Rex Budd, Sr. 70, died at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 1999, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin.

Mr. Budd was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Barton County. He was a lifetime Jasper area resident. He retired from Leggett & Platt, Carthage, in 1985, and served in the Army during the Korean War.

He Married Betty Brown on Dec. 7 1950, in Bentonville, Ark. Survivors include two sons, Rex Budd, Neosho, and Phillip Budd, Carthage, three daughters, Violet Budd, Kay Budd and Hope Budd, all of Jasper; a brother, Melvin Budd, Jasper; a sister, Edith Arnold, Jasper; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper. burial will be in Waters Cemetery, northwest Jasper. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.

Joel Maneval sang "How Great Thour Art" and "In The Garden". Joyce Maneval was organist. Pallbearers were Jim Budd, Richard Morgan, Ron Budd, Jerry Osterdyk, Kenny Arnold and Kevin Weaver.
