Eva "Edith" Arnold, age 91, of Jasper, Mo., passed away at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, Mo., after a short illness.

Edith was born on July 26, 1918, in rural Jasper County to Claud Craig and Lula Maud (Pfander) Budd. She lived in the Jasper area all of her life. Edith was a farm wife and homemaker, who enjoyed gardening and especially raising flowers. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Edith was united in marriage to Ray Kenneth Arnold on July 2, 1939, in Jasper. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1991.

Edith was a member of the Jasper Christian Church and the Surviving Spouses of Jasper.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Edith was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Avis Budd; two brothers, Melvin and Merle Budd; a granddaughter, Christina Arnold; and a son-in-law, Richard Morgan. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Arnold and wife, Kay, of Jasper, and Bill Arnold and wife, Jean, of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one daughter, Linda Morgan, of Lamar, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Claudine and Betty Budd; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Weng Funeral Chapel in Jasper. Burial will follow in Waters Cemetery northwest of Jasper. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at Weng Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Jasper Christian Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo.
