Claude Budd Dies Instantly When Struck by Automobile Driven By Ray Storm Near Jasper ----
Lamar, Mo., Sept. 7---Claude Budd, 58 years old, a lifelong resident of this community, who resided on a farm northwest of Jasper, was killed instantly at 10:15 o'clock last night near the Blue Schoolhouse, when he was struck by a motor car driven by Ray Storm, who resides near Jasper.
No details of the accident were obtainable except that Storm immediately called a Gibson ambulance and that the body was removed to the funeral home.
Coroner C. E. Duckett, after an investigation, held the death to be accidental. No Inquest will be held.
Surviving are two sons, Claude M. Budd, stationed Luzon with the army, and Merle Rex Budd, at the home; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Arnold of Jasper; two brothers, Phillip and George Budd of Jasper; five sisters, Mrs. Henry White of Columbus, Mrs. Elmer Pugh of Carthage, Mrs. Fred Pugh of Jasper, Mrs. Walter McPeak of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Bert Quillin of Jasper, and two grandchildren.
