Boleslaw C. Limanowski, "Ben", was born on August 21st, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Mary (Mroz) and Nickolaj (aka Michael) Limanowski. Ben was the fourth son of Michael and Mary. Brother of Edward, Rev. Stanley C.,Theodore "Ted", and Leo.
Ben proudly served in the United States Army from 1943-1946, during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Ben was a member of the 11th Airborne, 187th GIR.
On October 22, 1949, Ben married Anne Marie Zilis. Together, they had nine children: Joan, John, James, Jerome, Joseph, Janet, Judith, Jeffrey and Joyce.
Employed by Commonwealth Edison, Joliet Station no 9 for over 40 years. Ben was proud of his Polish Heritage, and enjoyed cooking as a hobby, as well as gardening, and travel to Las Vegas and Florida during his retirement. Ben was proud "Papa" to 15 grandchildren at the time of his passing, in 1995.
