Andrew Nett was born September 26, 1879, at St. Martin, Minnesota. He married Anna Mary Backes on February 28, 1905 at St. Martin. Following their marriage they lived on a farm northeast of Foxholm until 1947, then moved to Minot. He died September 9, 1948, several days after suffering a heart attack.

Andrew and Anna had eight children: Irene (Mrs. John Dufner), Clara (Mrs. George Phillips), Kathryn (Mrs. William Henson), John, Susan (Mrs. Harvey Jevne), Paul, Benedict and Joseph.
